KUALA LUMPUR, June 5 — Environmental sustainability must be given serious attention to ensure Malaysia’s food security, said Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu.
In a Facebook post, he said the people must play a role in addressing current challenges posed by climate change.
“Climate change is no longer a future issue, but a challenge we are facing today.
“As Malaysians, we all have a role in preserving the environment through small actions that have a big impact — reducing waste, maintaining cleanliness, planting trees, and using resources wisely,” he said, in conjunction with World Environment Day, themed “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future”, today.
He also called on the public to foster environmental awareness and act to ensure the Earth remains green, sustainable and prosperous.
“One world. One action. One hope,” Mohamad said.
