SHAH ALAM, May 30 — The Health Ministry (MOH) has applied to the Selangor Lands and Mines Department to acquire land for the development of the Puncak Alam Health Clinic.
Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad was quoted by Sinar Harian as saying that the application, submitted under Section 4 of the Land Acquisition Act 1960 on April 28, is currently awaiting approval from the relevant authorities.
He said the identified site is located in Alam Suria, Puncak Alam, involving 11 lots that are currently occupied by rows of shop lots.
"We will acquire the land there and once the process is completed, ownership of the area will be transferred to the MOH," he said, the local daily reported.
Dr Dzulkefly said the level three health clinic will be built to accommodate the needs of the growing population in Puncak Alam.
“For the preliminary works, the government has approved RM5 million, while the total project cost is estimated to exceed RM50 million.”
He said construction is expected to begin in 2027, provided the approval and land acquisition processes proceed as planned.
He added that the MOH would hold a special meeting with Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari to expedite matters concerning the project.
