PUTRAJAYA, May 29 — All Immigration Department counters, including those at Urban Transformation Centres, will be closed on Monday (June 1) and Tuesday (June 2).
It said that the counters will be closed on Monday, in conjunction with the Official Birthday of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, and on Tuesday, in conjunction with Wesak Day.
“All counters will resume operations on Wednesday (June 3),” the department said on social media.
Earlier, the government agreed to grant public holidays on the occasion of Wesak Day and the Official Birthday of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
The Human Resources Ministry said that the Official Birthday of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong is one of the five mandatory paid holidays that private-sector employers must grant to workers in Peninsular Malaysia, including the Labuan Federal Territory.
Meanwhile, the Wesak Day celebration, which falls on Sunday (May 31), entitles employees to a replacement holiday on Tuesday, in accordance with the current provisions.
