SHAH ALAM, May 26 — The Klang Royal City Council (MBDK) has reentered the low corruption risk category under a Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) assessment, said Klang Mayor Dato’ Abd Hamid Hussain.
The local authority was in the moderate corruption risk category last year.
Hamid said the recategorisation was done based on the MACC’s internal data and information supplied by the council for the 2023-2025 period.
“The decrease in corruption risk level is a very proud achievement that is the result of continued efforts and solid commitment from top management and the entire workforce,” he said at an MBDK meeting today.
He added that the achievement reflects the local authority’s efforts in strengthening governance and cultivating integrity in public service delivery.
The decrease in corruption risk level for MBDK is also seen as a recognition of the council’s various integrity and internal monitoring initiatives, said Hamid.
