KUALA LUMPUR, May 26 — The Foreign Affairs Ministry (Wisma Putra) has confirmed that one of the two Malaysian nationals affected by the building collapse in Angeles, the Philippines, on Sunday (May 24) has died.
It said the next of kin had been notified and that the Embassy of Malaysia in Manila is providing the necessary consular assistance to the family, including facilitating funerary arrangements.
In a statement, Wisma Putra extended its heartfelt condolences to the deceased's family during this difficult time.
The other victim affected by the incident was reported safe and unharmed. The Embassy in Manila has provided the necessary consular assistance to the survivor.
The ministry also expressed its appreciation to the relevant authorities in the Philippines for their assistance and cooperation, and reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the welfare and safety of Malaysian citizens abroad.
