KUALA LUMPUR, May 19 — Nervousness was the reason for the national women's doubles, Ong Xin Yee-Carmen Ting's early exit in the first round of the 2026 Malaysia Masters tournament.
In the action that took place at the Unifi Arena today, the seventh seeds of the tournament lost unexpectedly to the Taiwanese pair of Hsieh Yi En-Teng Chun Hsun 15-21, 20-22 in 39 minutes.
"I think there was a bit of nervousness today. Thinking too much and wanting to win the match so much.
"Because of that, our game didn't work out," Ting told the media after the match.
Also eliminated was fellow national women's pair Chong Jie Yu-Vanessa Ng, who also lost to the Taiwanese pair Chen Yan Fei-Sun Liang Ching 16-21, 17-21 in 33 minutes.
