SEPANG, May 14 — A policeman died after collapsing during a marching drill at the Sepang district police headquarters (IPD) here yesterday.
Corporal Khairil Idzhar Rodzi, 36, who was attached to the Dato’ Abu Bakar Baginda Police Station, was pronounced dead at the IPD. The cause of death has yet to be determined.
Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar and Selangor Police Family Association (PERKEP) chairperson Datin Rozana Kasbon conveyed their condolences to Khairil Idzhar’s family following his passing.
“Allahyarham passed away at the age of 36, having served in the Royal Malaysia Police for 17 years.
“The passing of Cpl 171014 Khairil Idzhar is a great loss to the Selangor police contingent. Salam takziah,” Shazeli said in a statement posted on the Selangor Police official Facebook page.
Media reports stated that Khairil Idzhar collapsed during the drill and was pronounced dead by a medical officer from the Health Ministry.
To date, no official statement has been issued by the Sepang IPD regarding the cause of death.
