Negeri Sembilan local authority tenants to enjoy 20 pct rental cut

SEREMBAN, May 13 — The Negeri Sembilan state government has agreed to provide a 20 per cent rental reduction for all tenants of local authority premises from June to December this year, involving RM1.4 million.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said the seven-month reduction would benefit tenants occupying 5,199 premises under the Seremban City Council, the Port Dickson Municipal Council, the Jempol Municipal Council, the Tampin District Council, the Kuala Pilah District Council, the Rembau District Council, and the Jelebu District Council.

The measure is aimed at easing the burden on tenants while stimulating local economic activities.

“The reduction will benefit tenants occupying 5,199 PBT premises statewide,” he told the media after chairing the State Executive Council meeting today.

Meanwhile, Aminuddin said that currently vacant portfolios will be temporarily overseen by existing executive councillors, with further details to be announced next week.

Earlier, it was reported that 14 Barisan Nasional state assemblymen had lost confidence in the Menteri Besar, resulting in four executive councillors losing their positions.

They include State Rural Development, Plantation and Commodities Committee chairman Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias, who also held the Agriculture, Food Security, and Cost of Living portfolio; State Education and Human Capital Committee chairman Datuk Ismail Lasim; State Youth and Sports Committee chairman Datuk Mustapha Nagoor; and State Heritage, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Committee chairman Datuk Mohd Faizal Ramli.

Meanwhile, he said Negeri Sembilan FC has strengthened its sports science performance through an official collaboration with the local nutrition brand NE-G, which will serve as the club’s energy gel partner for three years.

The strategic partnership will see NE-G provide energy-nutrition support for the main squad to help players maintain optimal stamina.
