SHAH ALAM, May 6 — Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj today awarded 32 appointment letters for various roles in palace and religious administration during a ceremony at Istana Bukit Kayangan here.
Top of the list was state Royal family member Muhammad Faez Muhammad Muhammad Taib, who was named palace Orang Besar.
The Sultan also awarded a Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS) membership letter to State Legal Adviser Mohamad Onn Abd Aziz for the 2024-2026 session.

Going down the recipient list, Dato’ Mohd Amran Mat Zain, Dato’ Mohamad Shakir Abdul Hamid, Noor Hadina Ahmad Zabidi and Dato’ Mohammad Adib Husain were appointed to the state Shariah Court of Appeal permanent panel.
Meanwhile, Abdul Shukor Abd Hamid, Siti Salwa Mohd Nor@Ghazali, Umamuddin Yunus, Marina Abdul Rahman and Norul Aina Bahari received their letters of appointment as state Shariah High Court judges, while Siti Noraini Mohd Ali, Siti Fatimah Ahmad Maulana, Aminullah Bahrin and Nik Mohd Fitri Nik Yahaya were named state Shariah Subordinate Court judges.
Sultan Sharafuddin also presented Abdul Hadi Umar, Puan Sri Kauthar Mohamad Banun and Harun Hashim with appointment letters as state Shariah High Court deputy registrars.

Four Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) officers received appointment letters as a marriage, divorce and reconciliation head registrar, senior registrar, senior registrar cum King’s wali (bridal guardian) registrar, and King’s wali registrar, respectively.
Besides that, 10 people were appointed to the Perbadanan Wakaf Selangor board of directors, including chairman Tan Sri Syed Zainal Syed Mohamed Tahir and his deputy Mohamed Izam Mohamed Yusof.
Each appointment was declared under the Selangor State Islamic Religious Administration Enactment 2003.
The ceremony was witnessed by Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, and State Secretary Dato’ Ahmad Fadzli Ahmad Tajuddin.
