PETALING JAYA, May 5 — Selangor FC head coach Kim Pan Gon has urged his players to make home advantage count against Vietnam’s Nam Dinh FC tomorrow, stressing that a win in the first leg of the ASEAN Club Championship (ACC) Shopee Cup semi finals is crucial before heading into the return-away fixture.
Pan Gon said securing a positive result at the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) Stadium would be important to give the Red Giants a strong advantage heading into the second leg in Vietnam.
“Result is the most important outcome for us. At home, we must have a win before we go for the away game. We want to have a big advantage for that,” he said during the pre-match press conference at the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) Stadium here today.
Meanwhile, the South Korean coach said the team has made solid preparations, especially in mental readiness, while also focusing on recovery.
He added the recent performances of Selangor FC, which scored 10 goals without conceding any, reflects the team’s identity as an attack-minded side with solid defence.
He said he hopes players go into tomorrow’s match with confidence.
”Before this game, I think players should be ready with a lot of confidence and good game fitness. For this game, I believe they are ready,” Kim said.
