KUALA LUMPUR, April 24 — A Myanmar woman died after she was allegedly stabbed by her ex-husband at a condominium in Setapak yesterday.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said police received information from the public regarding the incident at 2.20pm.
Following the report, they arrested a Myanmar man on the same day and seized the weapon believed to have been used in the incident.
"Initial investigations revealed that the suspect is the victim’s ex-husband, and the motive for the attack is believed to be jealousy," he said in a statement today.
A post-mortem at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital Forensic Department at 9am today confirmed the cause of death as a stab wound to the chest.
Fadil added that the man has been remanded for seven days until April 30 to assist in the investigation. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
