Police cripple syndicate in Klang Valley, over RM14m in drugs, assets seized

KUALA LUMPUR, April 21 — The Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department has crippled a drug trafficking syndicate operating in the Klang Valley through ‘Op Empis’, with total seizures of drugs and assets amounting to RM14.15 million.

Its director Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said 19 individuals aged between 24 and 48 were arrested in the operation on Thursday (April 16). They comprised 12 local men, five local women, and two Chinese women.

The police raids uncovered drug storage and processing locations at an apartment in Taman Wahyu and a house in Kepong.

“The seizures include 31.8kg of ketamine, 4.2kg of erimin 5, 0.89kg of ecstasy pills, and 6.5kg of MDMA powder, with an estimated value of RM3.1 million,” he said during a media conference at the Kuala Lumpur Police contingent headquarters today.

During the raid, the police also seized assets worth RM11.05 million under the Dangerous Drugs (Forfeiture of Property) Act 1988, including 18 vehicles, among them a Rolls-Royce Cullinan Black Badge, a Porsche Taycan 4S, and a Mercedes-Benz AMG GLA35.

Other items seized included 27 pieces of jewellery weighing 1.66kg, three gold bars (2.1g), eight luxury watches, a Coach handbag, and a ROG Strix Scar 17 gaming laptop.

Hussein added that various currencies, totalling approximately RM4.9 million, were also confiscated, including RM4.5 million in local currency.

Their investigations revealed the syndicate began operating early this year, using apartment units as operational bases before distributing drugs across the Klang Valley.

Each member had a specific role, with the 12th suspect identified as the syndicate leader, while others served as assistants, storekeepers, and runners. Adding 19 suspects have been remanded for seven days starting Friday (April 17) under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

He said that three of the suspects tested positive for drugs, while five had criminal records.

“Seven suspects have been detained under the Dangerous Drugs (Special Preventive Measures) Act 1985, while eight others were released on police bail,” Hussein said.
