SHAH ALAM, Apr 9 — Police have dismantled a drug distribution syndicate operating around the Klang Valley following the seizure of various narcotics worth approximately RM8.6 million in a recent operation.
The Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (JSJN) of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) said two suspects — a 42-year-old local man and a 28-year-old foreign woman — believed to be involved in the syndicate’s activities were also arrested.
They were detained during a raid conducted at a condominium parking area in Jalan Pandan Indah on April 3. They have been remanded for seven days beginning April 4.
“Both suspects acted as storekeepers and runners for the syndicate, receiving payments of between RM1,000 and RM2,000 for each delivery since January,” it said in a statement today.
Police inspections uncovered 50 packages suspected to contain ketamine weighing about 51.43kg during the initial raid at the car park.
A follow-up search was then carried out at the condominium unit linked to the suspects, leading to the discovery of several types of drugs, including methamphetamine, ketamine, MDMA and vape liquids containing MDMA, as well as ecstasy pills.

“The total seizure of various types of drugs is estimated to be worth RM8.58 million and is believed to be capable of supplying approximately 424,000 drug users,” the department said.
Two vehicles — a Proton X70 and a Nissan Grand Livina — were also seized.
Investigations also found that the vehicles used fake registration numbers to evade authorities, while rented residential units were used as storage locations for the drugs.
“Both suspects tested positive for methamphetamine and ketamine,” the statement said, adding that one of them also has three previous criminal records.
The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries the death penalty or life imprisonment upon conviction.
