SHAH ALAM, April 7 — Penang has become the seventh state visited by the Selangor Malaysian Games (SUKMA) and Para SUKMA 2026 delegation to deliver the official invitation for the biennial national multi-sport event.
State executive councillor for youth, sports, and entrepreneurship Mohd Najwan Halimi said the visit is part of the tradition of organising SUKMA and aims to strengthen cooperation among participating states.
“Preparations as host are now being actively carried out and have entered the final phase, with all aspects, including logistics, sports facilities, athletes’ accommodation, and technical coordination, being comprehensively refined to ensure the smooth organisation of the Games.
“In addition, the official invitation letter was also presented as a gesture of appreciation following Penang’s confirmation to participate in the 22nd SUKMA and Para SUKMA in Selangor,” he said in a statement today.
Najwan led the delegation and was accompanied by SUKMA 2026's secretariat Dato' Mohd Yazid Sairi and the Selangor Sports Council's director Mohamad Nizam Marjugi
