Man arrested in Klang for bludgeoning security guard to death

SHAH ALAM, April 5 — Police have arrested a man suspected of beating a security guard to death this morning in Bandar Bukit Raja, Klang.

North Klang police chief Vijaya Rao Samachulu said the incident occurred at around 1am at a security post in the residential building, as reported by Berita Harian.

“The victim was taken to Shah Alam Hospital with injuries from the physical assault, but was pronounced dead at 4.18am.

“Initial investigations revealed the incident stemmed from an argument between the suspect and the victim at the scene, when the suspect allegedly struck the victim with a blunt item,” he said in a statement.

Vijaya said that based on intelligence, a squad from the North Klang District Police Headquarters (IPD) was able to track and arrest the suspect, also seizing a steering wheel lock believed to have been used in the assault.

“Further checks found that the suspect, who is in his 40s, has eight previous criminal records and two drug-related records.

“The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code,” Vijaya said.
