SHAH ALAM, March 26 — Don’t speculate about the Seafield Sri Maha Mariamman Temple site issue, which in the final stages of resolution by the state government, said Special Committee of Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Sikh, and Tao Religions in Selangor (LIMAS) co-chairman Papparaidu Veraman.

He said the site is greenlit for religious purposes and any speculation could compromise the ongoing resolution process.

“It is in the final stages before being officially finalised by the state government, so I urge all parties not to make statements or speculations that go against facts.

“Inaccurate statements or speculations could affect the ongoing resolution process,” he said in a statement posted to Facebook.

Papparaidu, who is also state executive councillor for human resources and poverty eradication, said he is responsible for and open to providing clarifications on the matter to any party.

In early February, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim urged all state governments, including opposition members, to adhere to construction regulations for houses of worship set by the federal government.

Anwar said the state government must set aside political differences to ensure house of worship construction issues are handled according to clear policies.
