KUALA LUMPUR, March 21 — Padang Terap in Kedah is currently at Level Two (Heat Wave) temperature as of 4pm today, said the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
It announced that 10 other areas in the Peninsula are at Level One (Caution), involving the entire state of Perlis; Kubang Pasu, Pokok Sena, Sik, Pulau Langkawi, Kuala Muda, Pendang, Baling and Bandar Baharu in Kedah; and the Penang Northeast district.
In a statement, MetMalaysia said the Caution Level refers to daily maximum temperatures between 35°C and 37°C for at least three consecutive days.
The Heat Wave Level is defined as daily maximum temperatures between 37°C and 40°C over the same period.
