SHAH ALAM, March 18 — Six families affected by recent fires in Bestari Jaya and Sabak Bernam will receive RM18,000 in financial aid from Yayasan Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), or MBI.
Yayasan MBI head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said each household would receive RM3,000.
The Bestari Jaya blaze, he said, involved 25 victims from five families, who are housed at a temporary relief centre (PPS).
The family affected by the Sabak Bernam fire is staying with relatives, Azri added.
“In addition to the RM3,000 aid for each family, we will also distribute other forms of aid such as blankets, pillows, food and drinks today,” he told Media Selangor.
He said Yayasan MBI will keep up its RM1 million annual allocation this year to assist disaster victims, including those affected by fires, floods and landslides.
Azri added that the aid is not limited to cash aid, but also basic necessities such as food baskets and daily essentials.
