SHAH ALAM, March 17 — The final ten nights of Ramadan are especially significant for Muslims, as they include a night promised to be full of honour and greatness.
On that night, Allah SWT revealed the Qu'ran from the Preserved Tablet (al-Lawhu 'l-Mahfuz) to the lowest heaven before it was conveyed in stages to the Prophet Muhammad through the Angel Jibril over a period of 23 years.
Over the centuries, religious scholars have interpreted Qu'ranic passages as meaning that on these nights, the heavenly decrees for the coming year are determined and revealed to the angels.
During the last ten nights of Ramadan, Muslims increase their acts of worship, including enlivening the nights with prayers, supplications, and remembrance of Allah SWT in mosques.
Photographer HARUN TAJUDIN captured the atmosphere on the 27th night of Ramadan at the Masjid Diraja Sultan Suleiman Klang in the early hours of today.
