KUALA LUMPUR, March 15 — Southeast Asia remains one of the most dynamic economic regions in the world amid global uncertainties, with shifting supply chains and evolving regional dynamics creating new opportunities for businesses across ASEAN.
Malaysia-Cambodia Business Association (MCBA) president Datuk Seri Ricky Yaw said businesses should adopt a broader regional perspective and seize emerging opportunities within ASEAN as global economic conditions continue to evolve.
He noted that the global economic environment is undergoing rapid transformation.
“The recent developments in global geopolitics, including the rising tensions in the Middle East, have introduced new uncertainties to international trade and supply chains.
“In times like these, businesses must remain cautious and adaptable when expanding into international markets. At the same time, every challenge often presents new opportunities,” Yaw said in a statement today.
He also highlighted the recent developments in Thailand’s economic and political landscape, which have also created new dynamics within the region, prompting companies to re-evaluate their regional investment strategies.
Meanwhile, Cambodia is currently one of the most promising emerging markets in ASEAN.
“With strong economic growth and a government that actively supports foreign investment and international collaboration, Cambodia offers significant opportunities for Malaysian businesses,” Yaw said.
As such, MCBA plans to organise a business exhibition in Cambodia later this year, aiming to bring more Malaysian brands, products and entrepreneurs into the Cambodian market and strengthen bilateral trade collaboration.
“In today’s uncertain global environment, cooperation and trust among businesses are more important than ever. Through stronger regional partnerships, we can create greater opportunities and achieve mutual growth,” he added.
