BAM warns clubs over false affiliation claims

KUALA LUMPUR, March 11 — The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) has urged the public to exercise caution and verify the legitimacy of training programmes following reports of clubs falsely claiming affiliation with the national body.

It advised parents to confirm any claims of association before enrolling their children or making any payments to these entities.

“BAM has become aware of several badminton training programmes and clubs falsely claiming or implying affiliation with BAM.

“BAM wishes to emphasise that these programmes and clubs are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or authorised by BAM,” BAM said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, it also warns that any party found misrepresenting an affiliation with BAM or using BAM's logo without authorisation is requested to immediately cease such claims or use.

“BAM takes the misuse of its name and reputation seriously and reserves the right to take appropriate action where necessary," BAM said.

For verification of official BAM programmes, please refer to BAM's official communication channels.
