SHAH ALAM, March 11 — Twenty-five foreign nationals were arrested during a raid on an unlicensed recycling premises operating along Jalan Bestari in Kapar, Klang, yesterday.

Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar said all the suspects, aged between 24 and 63, failed to produce valid identification documents and work permits.

“The raid was carried out at 3.15pm by the North Klang district police headquarters' Crime Prevention and Community Safety Division, with the cooperation of Tenaga Nasional Berhad,” he said in a statement today.

An inspection found that the premises were engaged in plastic recycling and are believed to have been operating for about six months without a permit from the local authorities.

“The police also seized one closed-circuit television (CCTV) decoder unit, two time-recording machines together with punch cards, as well as two remote controls for the main gate of the premises,” Shazeli said.

The case is being investigated under Section 6 of the Second-Hand Dealers Act 1946, as well as Sections 55B, 6(1)(c), and 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
