SHAH ALAM, March 11 — The police have arrested two more individuals over a gang robbery in Gombak on February 27, bringing the total number of suspects held to six, including two senior police officers and a policeman.
Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar said the two suspects, picked up yesterday, are under remand to assist in the investigation after a series of arrests that began on March 2.
“Alhamdulillah (God be praised), all suspects involved in the case have now been arrested. The investigation paper has been submitted to the Bukit Aman Legal Affairs Division for review and legal opinion as the case involves suspects serving with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM),” he told the media at the Selangor police contingent headquarters today.
Shazeli added that the alleged mastermind behind the gang robbery was a civilian and that all the suspects knew each other.
Meanwhile, the police have obtained several positive leads in investigations into incidents involving vehicle arson and criminal intimidation in the residential area of Taman Kinrara, Puchong, which occurred on Monday (March 9) and yesterday.
He assured that the investigations would be conducted transparently and fairly without any element of bias.
Shazeli also advised the public to refrain from speculation or provocation, particularly on issues related to religion, royalty, and race (3R).
“I would like to stress that the police will not compromise with any party involved in inciting or spreading such issues,” he said.
Yesterday, Shazeli said police had opened three investigation papers over the vehicle arson and criminal intimidation incidents.
Two investigation papers were opened under Sections 427 and 506 of the Penal Code for mischief and criminal intimidation, while another was opened under Section 435 of the same code for mischief by fire involving vehicles.
