SHAH ALAM, March 9 — Fire broke out at three premises, comprising a recycling factory, a vehicle workshop, and a paint storage warehouse, in Kampung Perepat, Klang this afternoon.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Operations Division assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said a report of the incident was received at 1.44pm, and firefighters from six Fire and Rescue stations were deployed to the location, arriving about 10 minutes later.
“The fire involves three lots of Class C factory buildings. The first lot, a vehicle workshop, is about 50 per cent destroyed, while the recycling factory and the paint storage warehouse are completely destroyed.
“No casualties have been reported so far. The fire has yet to be brought under control due to the absence of an open water source at the location,” he said in a statement.
Mukhlis added that the operation involves 31 officers and personnel from the Kapar, Klang Utara, Klang Selatan, Andalas, Port Klang, and Bukit Jelutong Fire and Rescue stations.
