KUALA LANGAT, March  8 — The Platform Selangor (PLATS) has recorded sales exceeding RM3 million as of mid-Ramadan this year, said Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said the achievement reflects strong public support for small traders while also demonstrating the effectiveness of the state government’s business digitalisation initiatives.

He added that the sales value, recorded through the PLATS system in collaboration with Agrobank, also indicates increased economic activity at the grassroots level throughout Ramadan.

"That is why this year I would like to record my appreciation to Agrobank and PLATS for continuing to support the implementation of this programme in more bazaar locations."

He said this when met during the Singgah Bazar and Rumpun Selangor bubur lambuk distribution programme at Banting Baru Ramadan Bazaar here yesterday.

Amirudin explained that the RM3 million recorded so far only covers transactions that can be measured through the PLATS system, while the actual total sales by bazaar traders could be significantly higher.

"If we take into account the overall sales by traders at the bazaars, the value could be three to four times higher."

Amirudin said the programme's expansion to more Ramadan bazaar locations is aimed at helping small traders and hawkers benefit from digital transaction facilities.

“I believe the sales figure will continue to increase as this year involves more bazaar locations compared to last year."

Earlier, Amirudin spent about half an hour distributing bubur lambuk to visitors, besides visiting traders’ stalls.
