SHAH ALAM, March 5 — More than 300 vendors will take part in the Selangor HAVOC Raya Fest 2.0 sale, which will run non-stop for 96 hours next week.
Its organiser, Datuk Firdaus Nazaman, said the number represents a 50 per cent increase compared with last year, offering visitors a wider range of choices.
He said some of the vendors are traders from Platform Selangor (PLATS), selling Aidilfitri essentials including clothes, songkok and traditional cookies.
“As with last year, we are prioritising PLATS entrepreneurs to take part. This is part of our agreement with the state government to promote local entrepreneurs.
“These traders were selected by the state administration to give them the experience of competing with entrepreneurs from across the country,” he told Media Selangor.
Firdaus said the festival, which runs from March 12 to 16, will offer lucky draw prizes worth RM50,000, including cash, gold and a motorcycle, as a token of appreciation for visitors.
Late last year, executive councillor for entrepreneur development Mohd Najwan Halimi said the festival is targeting 1.5 million visitors. It will be held at the Setia City Convention Centre in Setia Alam.
Throughout the 96-hour event, visitors can enjoy a variety of attractions including stage performances, appearances by popular artistes and influencers, special children’s activities and religious programmes.
Last year, the same event drew 1.2 million visitors and recorded transactions worth RM10 million, proving its strong potential as a driver of the state’s economy.
