SHAH ALAM, Mar 4 — A total of 426 fraud cases involving the transfer of land and property ownership were recorded nationwide between 2020 and 2024, said Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
“Of the total, 53 cases were recorded in the state of Selangor,” he said in a written parliamentary reply yesterday.
He was responding to a question from Kapar MP Halimah Ali about the number of fraud cases involving transfer of land and property ownership in Selangor and nationwide from 2020 to 2024.
The PAS lawmaker also wanted to know the percentage of cases involving women victims, especially senior citizens and those with low education levels.
Saifuddin said of the 426 cases nationwide, 152 cases or 35.7 per cent involved female victims, while 108 cases involved senior citizens.
“However, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) does not record data on victims based on their education level,” he added.
