SHAH ALAM, March 3 — The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA), in strengthening its commitment to social responsibility, today helped 50 underserved students buy their Aidilfitri attire.
Under the programme at Gio Fabrics boutique in Section 16 here, each recipient, aged seven to 17, received “baju Raya” worth RM200 each and had the opportunity to choose their favourite baju Melayu or baju kurung.
MBSA said the initiative reflects its continued commitment to fostering ties with the community, especially lower-income groups in areas under its jurisdiction.

“Through this programme, recipients have the chance to feel the Aidilfitri merriment.
“This not only brings them joy, but spreads goodwill, love and unity in the community,” it said.
MBSA added that the programme aims to bring council staff and the local community closer, and that the effort is aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 1 (No Poverty) and 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).
The council also said two more welfare programmes will be held soon — an aid handover ceremony to senior citizens in Sungai Kandis and a breaking of fast event at Kampung Merbau Sempak — as continued efforts to serve the needy.
