SUBANG JAYA, Feb 26 — The Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) will hold its Gerak Prihatin Komuniti event on March 10 at Pangsapuri Puchong Permai to give Aidilfitri aid to 10 families in MPP Zone 14, said Subang Jaya Mayor Dato’ Amirul Azizan Abd Rahim.
He said the initiative involves house visits, with each family receiving RM200 in cash or basic necessities, adding that it would not only lighten these families’ burdens ahead of Aidilfitri but also strengthen ties between MBSJ, government agencies, and corporate partners.
Among the government agencies and corporate partners that the local council is in collaboration with include the Selangor Zakat Board (LZS), Social Welfare Department (JKM), Selangor branch of the Prime Minister’s Department Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU JPM), AEON Big (M) Sdn Bhd, and MBSJ’s PUSPANITA unit.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to building a caring, inclusive and thriving community,” Amirul said when chairing the MBSJ board meeting at the council headquarters here today.
Meanwhile, he said enforcement teams are monitoring all 20 Ramadan bazaars registered with the city council to ensure vendors operate legally.
“So far, there are no issues with licence subletting, and permits have been issued to all registered vendors,” he told reporters at a press conference after the meeting.
As for the Aidilfitri bazaar in Puchong Permai, he said trader permits are being processed, with operations to start two weeks before Aidilfitri and covering about 100 lots.
“Vendor appointments have not been finalised, but applications have opened,” Amirul added.
