Draft Subang Jaya Local Plan 2035: Residents may submit proposals until Dec 31

SUBANG JAYA, Dec 1 — The Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) has launched its Publicity and Public Participation Programme to provide residents with the opportunity to submit proposals or objections to the Draft Subang Jaya Local Plan 2035.

Its Deputy Mayor Mohd Zulkurnain Che Ali said the report is open for public access from today until December 31 and may be reviewed at MBSJ headquarters' lobby between 9am and 4pm.

“In addition, we have provided buntings with QR codes to make it easier for the public to access the draft documents, objection forms, and information on amendment applications. All this information is also available on the official website, digital billboards, and MBSJ’s social media channels.

“These facilities are also available at five other locations within the MBSJ administrative area: the MBSJ 3K Complex, the MBSJ Hypermedia Library, the Urban Planning Counter at the MBSJ headquarters, PLANMalaysia Selangor, and the Petaling District and Land Office,” he said.

Zulkurnain added that the council had received 150 amendment applications, but only 85 were shortlisted for further consideration.

Among the applications received were proposals to change land-use zoning, to change institutional status to commercial, and to change residential status to commercial.

“Applications of this nature often attract objections as landowners see the development potential, given that the areas involved are within urban zones that have better economic prospects.

“After the publicity period ends, all objections and proposals will be brought to the Local Investigation Committee Meeting, which is expected to take place in April or May. State executive councillor for local government and tourism Dato' Ng Suee Lim will chair the meeting,” he said.
