KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 22 — Traffic on several major highways in Peninsular Malaysia heading towards Kuala Lumpur was reported to be slow this afternoon as people returned after the Chinese New Year and early Ramadan break.
A spokesperson for the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) said that as of 2.15pm today, there was a noticeable increase in vehicles along major routes causing congestion and delays.
“On the North-South Expressway (PLUS) E1 route, traffic is moving slowly from Gopeng to Tapah, while on the PLUS E2 highway, traffic is slow from Pedas Linggi to Simpang Ampat and from Ayer Itam to Sedenak due to accidents.
“Traffic is also slow-moving at Bandar Ainsdale heading towards the Nilai Utara interchange and from Bangi to Kajang.
"On the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway (KLK), traffic is reported to be slow from Bentong to Lentang and from Bukit Tinggi towards the Gombak Toll Plaza,” he said when contacted by Bernama.
Meanwhile, traffic remains smooth on the East Coast Expressway Phase 1 (LPT1), East Coast Expressway Phase 2 (LPT2) and the West Coast Expressway (WCE).
