SHAH ALAM, Feb 22 — The Platform Selangor (PLATS) Masuk Bazar programme organised by the Yayasan Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) will continue through Ramadan this year with an allocation of RM60,000.

State executive councillor for entrepreneurship Mohd Najwan Halimi said 20 selected bazaars will receive 300 digital coupons worth RM10 each that will be distributed to visitors to help ease their spending.

"These digital vouchers will encourage traders and entrepreneurs to utilise cashless payment systems, in line with Selangor's goal of becoming a smart state.

"As such, early visitors to selected bazaars have the opportunity to receive RM10 in spending credit. Apart from helping visitors, we will also be able to assist traders in generating extra income," he told Media Selangor.

Najwan said the list of selected bazaars will be announced in the near future.

Last year, a similar programme was organised in 10 locations, including the Bukit Beruntung and Shah Alam Stadium Ramadan bazaars, involving a RM40,000 allocation.

Introduced during Ramadan 2020, PLATS aims to complete the ecosystem of the Selangor Digitalisation Agenda. A year later, PLATS 2.0 was launched to help traders generate income year-round.

In 2023, MBI also introduced the PLATS Masuk Pasar campaign, running for two months at 12 selected locations across the state, distributing 20,000 Rahmah Digital Coupons worth RM5 each.

As of October 2024, 40,000 traders across all business products have joined the platform, and the state government is targeting a reach of 50,000 traders by 2026.
