SHAH ALAM, Feb 17: A king tide phenomenon is expected to occur from today until February 20, potentially causing seawater to overflow onto land and increasing the risk of flooding in low-lying areas.
The National Hydrography Centre has advised residents living along the coast to remain alert, monitor changes in sea levels, and follow official information issued by local authorities and relevant agencies.
According to the Malaysia Tides Schedule 2026, sea levels at the Port Klang Station are expected to reach between 4.8 and 5.23 metres during this period, with the highest reading predicted on February 19.
Members of the public can obtain further information and access the 2026 tide schedule via the National Hydrography Centre official website.
