PUTRAJAYA, Feb 11 — The Education Ministry (MOE) has clarified that the History subject is only offered to Year Five and Six pupils at the primary level.
In a statement today, the ministry said it has taken note of media reports on offering the History subject at the primary and secondary school levels under the 2027 school curriculum.
MOE said Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh, during an oral question-and-answer session in the Dewan Rakyat today, explained that Year One and Form One students will learn the new curriculum next year.
“For the History subject, at the primary school level it is offered to Year Five and Year Six pupils, while at the secondary school level, it is offered to students from Form One,” the statement said.
