PUTRAJAYA, Feb 6 — Former Federal Court chief registrar Datuk Zamri Bakar was among 11 individuals appointed as High Court Judicial Commissioners today.
The others are former Sabah and Sarawak High Court registrar Nixon Kennedy Kumbong, 56; former Johor Court director Rihaida Rafie, 55; registrar of the lower courts in Sabah and Sarawak Dayang Ellyn Narisa Abang Ahmad, 48; former Housing Tribunal president Asmadi Hussin, 58; former lawyers Datin Zalita Zaidan, 57; Mohamad Redzuan Idrus, 48; Alvin Leong Yin Yuan, 48; and Clive Jublee, 55; as well as former Sessions Court judge Azhar Mokhtar, 60, and Datuk Sri Raja Segaran S. Krishnan, 60.
Zamri, 59, from Melaka, had served as a magistrate and Sessions Court judge in various states before being appointed as deputy chief registrar of the Federal Court and subsequently chief registrar of the Federal Court.
Raja Segaran was a special advisor and legal consultant to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.
They received their instruments of appointment from Chief Justice Datuk Seri Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh.
Zamri, Raja Segaran, Rihaida, Asmadi, Zalita, Redzuan, and Azhar took their oath of office before Chief Judge of Malaya Datuk Seri Hashim Hamzah, and will be serving in Peninsular Malaysia.
Nixon, Dayang Ellyn, Leong, and Jublee took their oath before Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak Datuk Azizah Nawawi.
Their appointments were effective today. Also present at the event was Court of Appeal president Datuk Seri Abu Bakar Jais.
