KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 1 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has stressed that all development efforts must be carried out equitably so that the benefits of progress can be enjoyed by all Malaysians, without any group being left behind.
He said that national development should not be measured solely by physical achievements such as high-rise buildings, infrastructure expansion, and modern facilities, but must also have a positive impact on people's lives and welfare.
“Every step forward must be anchored in justice and the needs of society.
“All development efforts must ensure that no group is left behind in the stream of prosperity, so that the fruits of progress can be enjoyed equitably by all Malaysians,” Anwar said in a Facebook post in conjunction with Federal Territory Day today.
To this, the spirit of compassion, mutual respect and togetherness that forms the core of the MADANI government will continue to be strengthened to ensure harmony, stability and well-being.
“Happy Federal Territory Day to all residents of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan,” he said.
Federal Territory Day is observed on February 1 each year in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Labuan.
