KLANG, Jan 14 — The Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah graciously officiated the presentation of graduation certificates to nine students of the Istana Alam Shah Tahfiz Studies Programme for the 2021-2025 session.
His Highness presented the certificates at a ceremony in Istana Alam Shah today, which was also attended by Selangor Islamic Religious Council (Mais) chairman Dato' Setia Salehuddin Saidin.
The programme was established in 2011, in conjunction with the founding of Masjid Istana Diraja, through a collaboration between the Sultan of Selangor's Office, the Selangor Islamic Religious Department, and the Selangor Zakat Board.
Since its introduction, the programme has produced several cohorts of huffaz (Qur'an memorisers), beginning with the first group of 12 students from 2011 to 2016, followed by a second group of 10 students from 2016 to 2020.
The student intake is conducted every five years and involves 10 Selangor-born youths with excellent academic backgrounds and commendable character.
During the study period, students attend Qur’an memorisation classes at Masjid Istana Diraja at night, after the Subuh prayer, while their academic studies are conducted at Maahad Integrasi Tahfiz Selangor in Alam Impian, Shah Alam.
