Noor Azman returns as FAM sec-gen after suspension

SHAH ALAM, Jan 8 — Datuk Noor Azman Rahman has resumed his duties as Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) secretary-general after being found not guilty of falsifying seven heritage players’ documents.

FAM said this was decided during its Disciplinary Committee meeting yesterday, after which it was also determined that Noor Azman’s suspension would end immediately.

The committee, chaired by Datuk Baljit Singh Sidhu, convened after considering Noor Azman’s suspension period imposed by an independent investigative committee (IIC) on December 15, 2025.

“The committee decided to return Noor Azman to his role as FAM secretary-general, effective immediately.

“With this latest decision, it shows Noor Azman was only linked to administrative negligence and is not guilty nor involved in the document falsification,” the FAM said in a statement today.

Noor Azman was suspended from October 17, 2025, to allow an independent investigation into the alleged falsification of documents for seven Harimau Malaya heritage players, brought forth by Fifa.

On December 22, 2025, the FAM Executive Committee discussed the IIC report and decided to prolong Noor Azman’s suspension while the case was referred to the FAM Disciplinary Committee for further action.

The issue was brought to light after Fifa penalised FAM due to a technical error at the administrative level in connection with heritage players’ documents.

The IIC was formed to probe into the case and ensure transparency and integrity in national football.
