PUTRAJAYA, Jan 7 — The Foreign Ministry strongly urges Malaysians to defer non-essential travel to Venezuela amid security concerns in the Latin American country.
In a media advisory issued today, the ministry, known as Wisma Putra, said no Malaysians have been reported to have been affected by the situation there.
“There has been no change to the status of Malaysians in Venezuela since our last update on January 4, 2026.
“The Malaysian Embassy in Caracas remains in constant contact with registered Malaysians there… All are accounted for and safe,” read the advisory.
Wisma Putra added that it would continue to monitor the situation and provide updates if necessary.
