GOMBAK, Dec 27 — Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari continued his ground engagement programme around the Gombak Parliamentary constituency this morning to directly observe cost-of-living issues, engage with the local community, and monitor the implementation of development projects in the area.

He began his visit with a meet-and-greet session with traders and visitors at Pasar Tani Taman Melawati, including the distribution of 2026 calendars and breakfast at Mail Mee Rebu. The 20-minute visit also provided an avenue for two-way communication between the public and state leadership.

Amirudin then visited the newly opened 16th branch of Ehsan Mart in Taman Melawati to observe the community supermarket's operations, which offer daily necessities at affordable prices in line with the state government’s efforts to ease the cost-of-living burden on the people.

During the visit, he also used his own Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (Sara) credit to purchase essential goods, which were subsequently distributed to those in need in the Hulu Kelang state constituency.

The programme continued with an inspection of development projects under the Gombak constituency's Implementation Coordination Unit at Padang AU3 in Taman Keramat.

As a symbolic gesture of project monitoring, Amirudin signed the project signboard and presented football goal netting equipment for use by the local community, thereby contributing positively to community sports activities.

A one-off Sara assistance of RM100 began to be disbursed on August 31 through MyKad, benefiting 22 million people via a RM2 billion allocation.

The assistance is provided to all Malaysian citizens aged 18 and above, regardless of whether they fall under the B40, M40, or T20 categories, and can be redeemed cashlessly at selected supermarkets using their respective MyKad.
