SHAH ALAM, Dec 24 — A cat shelter will be built on Jalan Kerja Air Lama, Ampang Jaya, as an animal welfare initiative by the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ), with completion expected by next July.
The MPAJ Cat Shelter project will be equipped with safe, clean, and conducive basic facilities in line with animal welfare needs and environmental comfort.
“Besides serving as a temporary shelter, the facility is also planned as a community education centre to raise public awareness and encourage responsibility towards the welfare of pets.
“To ensure smooth implementation, MPAJ’s Building and Architecture Department recently conducted a site visit to mark the construction area before building works begin,” MPAJ said on Facebook.
According to the council, the site visit reflects its commitment to ensuring every public facility project is planned and executed in an orderly, systematic, and effective manner, aligning with efforts to strengthen community well-being and sustainable animal welfare management.
“MPAJ is committed to ensuring this project is carried out in a well-planned and effective manner for the benefit of animal welfare and community well-being,” it added.
