KLANG, Dec 22 — The Speed Selangor policy, launched in October, is streamlining approvals for factory construction and attracting significant interest from investors, said state executive councillor for investment, trade, and mobility Ng Sze Han.
He said local councils with industrial parks under development, including in Klang, Kuala Langat, Hulu Selangor, and Sepang, have received a surge of enquiries about the new policy.
“We are hoping that through this new initiative, new policies, we can improve our efficiency in giving the approvals for the construction of the new factories,” he told reporters after a groundbreaking ceremony for Syntec Intelligence Technology Sdn Bhd at Bandar Bukit Raja here today.
In October, the state government launched Speed Selangor to expedite approvals for development projects and business licences. It shortened approval periods from three months to a maximum of 30 days for high-impact, strategic industrial and commercial projects.
Speed Selangor emphasises business facilitation by ensuring speed and efficiency among local authorities without compromising transparency and government accountability.
“They can start construction after 30 days. This is what we are offering through the Speed Selangor initiative,” Ng said, adding that the rapid approval process has been well received, leading to a strong pipeline of potential investors.
“I truly believe this initiative … will become another attractive part of Selangor,” he said.
“Investors choosing Selangor as their destination for their new investments, be they DDI (domestic direct investment) or FDI (foreign direct investment),” he said.
Ng said special attention is being given to support DDI projects, reflecting the state’s commitment to balancing growth with economic development.
During his speech at the ceremony, Ng said Speed Selangor will impact projects to companies such as Syntec Technology, expressing confidence that the project would be completed on schedule, probably in the first quarter of 2027.
