KAJANG, Dec 14 — Author and publisher Anissa Safia officially launched her third children’s book, Let’s Go Home, celebrating a story written to uplift, educate, and open conversations about adoption for children and families across Malaysia.

Let’s Go Home was developed with the insights and support of OrphanCare Foundation, whose representatives were present at the launch. The foundation, along with several adoptive families, played a crucial role throughout the book’s creation, offering real testimonies, expert knowledge, and invaluable perspectives on adoption from both parents and children.

The book aims to normalise and raise awareness about adoption with compassion, accuracy, and dignity, a mission closely aligned with OrphanCare’s long-standing advocacy for family-based care.

It is a heartwarming picture book for young readers aged three and above, designed to help parents introduce and navigate conversations about adoption with love, honesty, and hope. Let’s Go Home reflects real family stories, developed through interviews with adoptive families, adoptees, specialists, and the dedicated team at OrphanCare.

Anissa's children’s books are uniquely crafted to nurture emotional intelligence, deepen bonding, and strengthen relationships within modern families. Rooted in real-life experiences, each story weaves love languages, emotional awareness, and meaningful connection into everyday moments that children recognise and feel.

The author, who also works as a publisher, communications practitioner, and community builder, focuses on real-life family dynamics, emotional learning, nurturing resilience in young children, and women's well-being.

Rather than instructing, the books gently open space for conversation, helping children name their emotions while allowing parents to connect, reflect, and build secure attachments. Written for both children and adults, the stories honour fundamental family dynamics with compassion and purpose, creating books that do more than entertain, but actively foster empathy, belonging, and lasting emotional connection.

The Selangor Public Library Corporation (PPAS) also supports Anissa's books, demonstrating the state government’s commitment to enriching children’s literacy and providing inclusive stories for Malaysian families.

Held at Thaqwa Square in Bandar Seri Putra, Kajang, the launch brought together authors, caregivers, educators, parents, industry partners, and community advocates. The venue was chosen as it was designed to support corporate, community, and family engagements within a refined, values-driven environment.

Special speaker, Uswatun Hasanah Mohd Habib, Malaysia’s first Baby Crying and Sleep Consultant and founder of Baby Language, shared her insights on emotional bonding, child wellbeing, and the importance of secure attachment, themes that resonate deeply with the book’s purpose.

In addition to the book launch, the event showcased products from DIRS and An Najmu, two Malaysian brands known for their commitment to quality and family-centred values. These products are now available at the 1Utama Shopping Centre, further strengthening local collaborations in the parenting and lifestyle space.
