SHAH ALAM, Dec 12 — Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI has received the Governance and Ethical Leadership Award under the Corporate Governance and Ethics category at the ESG Awards 2025.
It said the recognition stems from the continuous efforts to strengthen management efficiency, utilise data in decision-making, and uphold best governance standards in line with the First Selangor Plan's (RS-1) aspirations.
“This award reflects our strong commitment, and that of our subsidiaries, to upholding high-integrity governance as the foundation for long-term value creation,” MBI said in a Facebook post.
The agency emphasised that it bears a significant responsibility in safeguarding public trust and managing institutional risks effectively through a strategic portfolio encompassing land and property, mining and minerals, water, as well as energy and utilities.
“We are confident that receiving this award will further reinforce our sustainability efforts, in line with Selangor’s sustainable development agenda,” it said.
The ceremony also featured the ESG PLUS Dialogue session themed ‘The ESG Balancing Act: Profit, People, and Planet in Today’s Economy’, bringing together industry leaders to share insights, experiences and best practices in organisational leadership.
The session also discussed the challenges, opportunities, and direction for the implementation of sustainability principles in Asia.
