SHAH ALAM, Dec 9 — Yayasan Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), or MBI, has provided assistance to 10 heads of household whose families were affected by a storm in Kampung Kubu Gajah, Sungai Buloh, in August.
MBI group chief executive officer Dato' Saipolyazan M. Yusop said each family received RM1,000 to ease their burden after their property and house roofs were damaged.
“MBI is always concerned and ready to assist whenever disasters occur in Selangor. We hope this effort helps alleviate, even slightly, the burden faced by those affected,” he told the media during the aid presentation ceremony today.
Saipolyazan added that information on the victims was gathered through the district disaster unit before assessments were carried out to determine eligibility.
“Any disaster should be reported to the village head so that data can be collected and aid can be channelled promptly,” he said.
Meanwhile, Paya Jaras constituency coordinator Mohd Khairuddin Othman expressed his appreciation to the foundation for its concern in helping residents affected by misfortune.
“Yayasan MBI plays a crucial role and eases the hardship faced by the people. Today’s assistance to storm victims is among the many types of aid provided to various groups across the state,” he said.
