HULU LANGAT, Dec 7 — The Selangor Islamic Religious Council (Mais) has provided initial assistance to 54 household heads in Dusun Nanding, Hulu Langat, who were affected by the recent floods.
Its chairman Dato' Setia Salehuddin Saidin said the RM31,878 aid was swiftly mobilised through the relevant agencies for residents who are now restoring their homes.
“We came today to provide some assistance to help ease the burden borne by those facing this flood disaster,” he said after the aid presentation ceremony at SRA Dusun Nanding today.
The contributions, channelled through Teraju Ekonomi Asnaf (Teras) and Mais' Social Department, comprised food boxes worth more than RM200 each, rice, and basic necessities, including cloth, prayer mats, and soap for the victims' daily use.
The affected also received RM100 each from the Yayasan Islam Darul Ehsan.
Salehuddin added that all assistance aims to ensure victims have sufficient basic necessities while cleaning and recovery work is carried out.
“This contribution certainly cannot solve all their problems, but at the very least it can help them during this difficult period,” he said.
