SHAH ALAM, Dec 6 — Shah Alam ex-mayor Dato’ Haris Kasim today took his oath as Selangor Public Service Commission (SPN) chairman for the 2025-2027 session, in a tradition-rich ceremony here yesterday.
The ceremony was witnessed by Selangor Court principal judge Dato’ Seri Latifah Mohd Tahar, which confirmed Haris’ two-year tenure.
In his speech, Haris expressed his gratitude for the state government’s trust in him and voiced his commitment to strengthen integrity, transparency and professionalism in the public service system, including in appointments, discipline, and human resource development.
He emphasised that efforts to improve service delivery must be intensified through digitalisation, coordination of work processes, and data-based governance, in line with modern administrative demands.
The swearing-in ceremony was also attended by SPN acting chairman Dato’ Emran Kadir, Selangor State Legal Adviser Dato’ Salim Soib@Hamid, Selangor State Financial Officer Datuk Haniff Zainal Abidin, and Deputy State Secretary (Management) Dato’ Mohd Yazid Sairi, as well as SPN board members.
The event also saw a signing session of the appointment letter and presentation of the handover letter document, before it ended with congratulatory speeches from SPN members as a sign of support for the new leader.
Meanwhile, Selangor SPN expressed its gratitude and congratulations to Haris, and said it hopes the new leader continues to fortify the professionalism of the state’s public service so it remains competent, upright, and reliable.
