SHAH ALAM, Dec 3 — The Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) is committed to strengthening its role in the development of the Gombak-Hulu Langat Geopark (GHLGp) through a senior management discussion session held to chart the geopark’s direction from 2026 to 2030.
MPAJ stated that the discussion focused on coordinating strategies for geopark development and preparing for the National Geopark reassessment next year.
Other topics included infrastructure needs, promotional plans, community engagement, and the implementation of pilot school awareness programmes in the areas involved.
MPAJ deputy president Hasrolnizam Shaari led the council’s delegation during the session held yesterday at The Campus Ampang, alongside department directors and several officers.
The session was chaired by executive councillor for local government and tourism and chairman of the GHLGp Advisory Council, Dato’ Ng Suee Lim, and was organised by Tourism Selangor as the GHLGp management body.
MPAJ’s active involvement demonstrates the local authority’s commitment to supporting sustainable geopark development, while strengthening the natural, cultural, and historical identity of the Gombak-Hulu Langat region.
