SHAH ALAM, Dec 3 — The number of flood victims in Selangor staying at temporary evacuation centers (PPS) continues to decline, with 975 people recorded as of 9 am today.

According to the latest disaster report from the Department of Social Welfare (JKM), the evacuees comprise 287 families housed in 17 PPS across four districts.

Kuala Selangor recorded the highest number of flood victims at 951, followed by Sabak Bernam (13), Kuala Langat (9), and Sepang (2).

A total of 14 PPS were opened in Kuala Selangor, with one each in Kuala Langat, Sepang, and Sabak Bernam.

Yesterday, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) stated that the country’s weather is expected to remain stable for the next few days.

However, further episodes of heavy Northeast Monsoon rain could occur at any time depending on monsoon patterns and the inflow of humid air.

The public can access the latest weather updates through the official MetMalaysia website, the myCuaca mobile app, and the agency’s social media platforms.

For further inquiries, MetMalaysia can be contacted via its hotline at 1-300-22-1638.
