SHAH ALAM, Dec 1 — The excitement of providing the best reading materials for their children has driven many parents to flock to the Selangor International Book Fair (SIBF) 2025 at the Setia City Convention Centre in Section U13.

Nurul Amira Natasha Muhammad Khair, 33, said SIBF is her preferred destination as it offers a wide variety of children’s books at affordable prices.

Present with her four children, she said her primary purpose was to look for educational books and dinosaur-themed books, which they enjoy.

“I came specifically to find books for my kids, especially those about animals and dinosaurs. The prices here are lower with plenty of discounts.

“This programme is ideal at the end of the year because it does not disrupt the school term. Exams are over, so I took the opportunity to bring my children along,” she told Media Selangor.

Meanwhile, married couple V. Sharanya and V. Jonathan were drawn to the wide selection of books at SIBF, especially for children.

“SIBF is excellent because you get to see all kinds of books. There are interactive books that produce sound when you touch the page, which I think is very appealing; children will definitely love it.

“Although many reading materials can be accessed online, I still prefer physical books because they feel more satisfying,” said the couple, both 34 and with children.

In addition, teacher Ahmad Firdaus Isa, 39, also took advantage of the festival to look for reading materials related to the life of the Prophet Muhammad.

“It is easy to find books here because everything is under one roof. As a teacher, I see that book fairs like this are very beneficial and should be held more often, and the prices are good too,” he said.
